Patience, Time, and Complain to Help Alleviating Sugar Cravings

Someone asked me what one can do to alleviate sugar cravings aside from eating more protein since she is having a hard time getting off sugar. I believe the only thing that has helped is time, patience, and a lot of complaining! But, when I couldn’t stand it anymore, I intentionally ate a large amount of sugar products (ice cream candy cake, etc), enjoyed every minute of it, and promptly had all of my symptoms returned 10 times. That taught my mind and body a nice little lesson, and my adherence to the diet is a lot better.

I have also cut out most grains and carbs, tried to stop finding loopholes, etc. sometimes you need to remember how much like shit that stuff makes you feel. Maybe you will start craving it less, and feel more revulsion after returning to the candida diet. I know it is really hard and it was lucky if you don’t have strong cravings. But, usually things you are allergic to are what your body craves. It makes no sense, but that is the way it is! Just try eating some fruit and occasionally some natural sugars. Maple syrup, honey, corn syrup, and stevia are the ones my naturopath says I can eat in moderation.

Here is a recipe for fresh sugar free lemonade I often make. The ingredients are 3/4 cup of fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of stevia extract powder, and 7 1/2 cups of water. Combine lemon juice and Stevia, and stir to dissolve stevia. Add water and stir until thoroughly mixed. Refrigerate and serve cold. It may also be served at room temperature. Adjust amount of stevia and lemon juice to personal tastes. I sometimes use Seltzer water instead of regular and use 1 lemon per glass. It is great!
